NEWS: DepEd Summer Employment Program 2011

Applications are now open for the Department of Education’s (DepEd) annual Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES). This program provides the opportunity for students between 15 to 25 years old to work in private or government offices.

Successful applicants will be doing basic clerical and office tasks for a total of forty (40) days from April 14 to May 25, 2011. They will receive the current minimum daily wage.

To qualify:

  1. Applicants must be atleast 15 years old but not more than 25
  2. The combined annual net income after tax of parents should not exceed the latest annual regional proverty threshold level for a family of six as determined at NEDA (National Economic and Development Authority (P 143,000.00)
  3. Applicant must have an average passing grade during the last school term attended

Qualified applicants may apply during office hours starting March 28 to April 9, 2011 from Monday to Saturday, at the Office of the Executive Director Joey G. Pelaez of the DepEd-Center for Students and Co-Curricular Affairs (CSCA) located at the Ground Floor, Mabini Building, DepEd Complex, Pasig City.

Applicants should bring the following requirements:

  1. Resume with 2×2 picture
  2. Photocopy of birth certificate
  3. For college students: recent grades and school registration
  4. For out-of-school youth: grades available before dropping out of school and certificate of indigence fromt the Barangay chairman where the applicant resides
  5. Photocopy of the recent Income Tax Return (ITR) of both parents.  If non-filers of ITR, parents should secure an affidavit from a notary public or lawyer stating that they are the parents of the applicant for the SPES and their combined net income after tax is no more than P36,000.00

Applicants will be interviewed immediately after completing the requirements.
