Goodbye Tiger, Hello Rabbit!

The year 2010 has been a roller coaster ride. There were Contact Centers that closed due to economic crisis, there were some who found allies and merged to make them bigger and better. There are also these new born, the new players in the industry. This has been the story of 2010. But I think the biggest story for this year was when the Philippines overtook India as the number 1 in BPO.

As we are about to close 2010, there are some indications that the year of the Metal Rabbit will be a good one for the BPO and Contact Center industry.

CCAP said in a statement that Philippine Call Centers will hire 70,000 agents in 2011. The Philippines is also expected to earn about $25 billion in annual revenues by 2015, hoping to maintain its position as one of the world’s top outsourcing destinations.

These are some of the good news and projections for the upcoming year/s. So, while we’re all enjoying the holiday season and waiting for the coming of 2011, let’s take time to reflect and think what the BPO industry has in store for us.
